Platform Tennis / Paddles
Cold nights were made for paddle.
Viking, Master Athletics and Xenon paddles, a demo program that lets you play before you buy, and people who understand why the paddle you reach for matters when the point gets fast. Southeastern Wisconsin’s court-sport shop since 1946.
A winter game
Played outside, in the cold, on purpose.
Platform tennis is played on a smaller raised court surrounded by screens — and unlike tennis, those screens are part of the point. The deck is built for cold-weather play, with heat underneath to keep the snow and ice from taking over.
So when the tennis courts go quiet, paddle season is just getting good. Cold air. Fast hands. Long points. That’s platform tennis.
The demo program
Take it
to the deck.
A paddle can feel right in your hand and completely different once the point starts moving. So take two with you and play them for a few days — hit drives, work the screens, volley, defend, and see what feels quick and stable when the pace picks up. It’s just $2 per paddle, per day, and every dollar you spend demoing can go toward the paddle you buy within 90 days.
- 01Pick two. Take home a couple of paddles.
- 02Go play. Use them in real points, not just a few swings in the shop.
- 03Swap and compare. Bring them back and try something different.
- 04Pick your paddle. Put your demo fees toward it, up to 90 days later.
The paddles
When the point speeds up, feel matters.
Platform paddles are solid and perforated rather than strung, so weight, balance, shape and face construction change how they feel in your hand and through the ball. Some players want quicker hands, some want stability, some want a paddle they barely have to think about. That’s why we carry Viking, Master Athletics and Xenon — and why we’d rather you play with them than decide from a spec sheet. Tell us what you play now and what you want to feel different, and we’ll help narrow it down.
New to platform tennis?
Never played? Start here.
Think doubles, a smaller court and screens that stay in play. After the ball bounces it can come off the wire and still be played, so a point that looks finished can come right back.
It’s quick, strategic and social — and somehow, standing outside on a cold Wisconsin night becomes part of the appeal.
